Winterized

Holiday cheer aside, winter brings to mind harsh realities more vividly than any other season. The last couple of weeks have been representative of that for me since I went directly from having the flu to catching an infection and having to go on antibiotics, and then we had to put one of my sick kitties to sleep. On top of that, the weather in St. Louis has been completely insane, ranging from the heavy snow that resulted in the picture above, to the several tornados that touched down around the metro area today (in 60 degree weather no less!). Anyway, art production has been slow, so this is all I’ve got for today.

Just re-read this, and realized that I am being kind of a Debbie-downer on New Year’s Eve. Sorry guys; I truly hope you are all having a nice celebration tonight! Here’s to 2011.

The Adirondacks Are Pretty This Time Of Year

This is just a hole in the ice but it’s the kind of image that has more of an influence on my work.

You like photos? How about another post full of my random photos and sans any real art? In the mood for that? Good, cuz that’s what you’re getting today. I’ve been out of town for a bit. My friend and I went up to the Adirondacks to visit family and friends. Time was short and we only managed to squeeze in a fraction of the friends we’d planned on seeing but it was fun nonetheless. It’s winter in the ADKs, the kind of winter you see on postcards and in the movies, the “Winter Wonderland” kind of winter… winter with deep snow and fragrant pine trees and a fire in the wood stove, winter as it’s meant to be. Sooo, while we were up there, we went snowshoeing for the first time this year. We walked a trail at The Adirondack Park Visitor Interpretive Center and MAN! was it a gorgeous day in the woods! I shot a bunch of pics with my handy dandy new Kodak Zi8. Thanks Sean!
