Usually when I make one of these mini collages I don’t think a whole lot about the scribble I draw to cut out, it’s just a random thing, but recently I was looking at the work of Irit Levy, specifically this piece and it struck me. There was something about the grid I really responded to, but rather than be very specific or literal about it i just wanted to take the idea of the pattern away and so I made this.
I like the pattern, but I am not thrilled with the continuity of my cuts. I’ll be doing more of these.
