old technology, new enthusiasm

as with so many things in life, the old and new often merge into something curiously interesting.  i’ve had many bouts of ambivialnce with photography – analog  … digital … analog …. digital – oy!   recently, i’ve been pulled toward the handcrafted quality of chemical based, analog image making.  here are a few rather pedestrian passes with cyanotype.  the blue is so rich and deep it’s difficult to convey.

  1. So fun! I always loved making those. I haven’t done it since photography class in high school, but it was a delightful process. This makes me want to play with it again.

  2. I didn’t know what Cyanotype was so I looked it up. It sounds complicated and I’d probably kill myself if I tried it

I’d love to hear more about how these are made, i could look it up but i have a feeling it would be more interesting hearing it from you. that little cluster at the top looks like a baby bird, and the shade of blue is mesmerizing.
