More Failures Than Success

This isn’t working, and I haven’t figured out why. I have my suspicions, but feel free to tell me what you think. The good news is that I can just make more or I can go and work back into this by printing over it again. I’m stuck in bed all day with this summer bug, so I have all the time in the world to obsess.

  1. What’s wrong with it? I think its quite effective

  2. This is excellent. The textures behind the grass leaves is great. Try another one with more open space: ie, less grass-leaf forms.

  3. i think it’s really beautiful. i like this sort of falling form or wave motif you’ve been working with.

thank you steph, i keep finding myself working with this shape, almost inadvertently, because it does recall both the idea of falling, rising, and being collected. it’s not conscious, and so, when i am making these things i am not always totally certain about what i want from the end.

i am happy to hear it is resonating on some level with people other than myself.

  4. It looks like long pine needles on a piece of soft pine. It’s not bad, at all. Just doesn’t flow.
    Take look at this:

the linear qualities of the font are fun, and helps your flow problem. It’s also just a fun video to play with ;)
