Triangle Stripes!
I’m still teaching myself how to sew with paintings. This is my first attempt to use a standard pattern, using the canvases I had available. I think it’s alright. A good frame would benefit the final presentation. Not my greatest work either, but lessons were learned and I don’t feel the need to dismantle it. Ultimately, that’s a success.

Thank you! I wasn’t sure exactly how this 1 would come out so I’m glad to get good feedback on it! Thanks again!

this is lovely. sharp and neat. it’s so tidy and quiet, even meditative in contrast to your more active, vibrant safetypin work.
i hesitate to say this, but i prefer your work unframed. it feels complete to me as is. frames just seem extraneous.

It surprised me how despite a lot of imprecision it still came out looking kind of clean. Up close it probably suffers more, but the medium as a whole seems pretty forgiving, especially if you’re using paintings with enough texture to hide the occasional misjoined stitch.
Thanks, Steph

I really like this. The triangles contact with the diagonally hanged square and make one hell of a good composition.
its always a pleasure to look at your work in details.

Nice Doug!
I like it.
I can’t wait to what your tinkering with the sewing machine and stitch patterns will produce later.
