Try Walking A Mile In These

I’d be lucky if I made it 10 feet. And how do you resist the urge to scrape the bottom of your shoe off? These are designed by the artist INSA and are an homage to both Chris Ofili and Alexander McQueen. They can be seen in the upcoming exhibit at Tate Britain.

While I was looking into those I found these too. Is our friend Terry Border branching out into footwear?

It would seem so at first glance but it is really the work of artist Polly Verity. She uses paper and wire to creat art and wearable garments, check her out.

  1. The shoes? Wow.

As to Polly, I talked to her once through flickr, because of our mutual wire thing. The problem with wire sculpture is that it can be hard to view it unless the lighting and background are near perfect. Where I finally started adding objects to help solve this problem, Polly had the genius of adding a covering but have the wire still visible. She does such great work.

i did enjoy how you both use similar materials with such different approaches (i am also kind of a paper junkie) i can only imagine the challenges posed by trying to photograph wire. pass the aspirin please.
