I’ve been painting a lot recently trying to build an arsenal for a commission, the colors of which I am still debating. As a result, I’ve been casting a wider net so I could use actual art to visualize where I’m going with it. This is the result.
I think that’s 36 separate canvases making up the string. Ultimately, I will narrow the color field and paint a lot more smaller canvases to increase the texture and design range within the colors.
The above was photoshopped from these:

i love seeing these. seeing them arranged like this all by color is so satisfying. it’s like looking through a really good candy store. i’m fascinated by displays of multiples of the same object in different colors. all beautiful! those ones with the repeating little circles are super fun!

Thanks, Steph! The circles are my current “thing.” These seem more like a half tone pattern or shoe tread than polka dots, but sooner or later I’ll get to those. I like playing with the Hue tool on photoshop too. Probably too much…

ha! just like the day i spent playing with all your mini encausetics on the floor!
i am enjoying seeing these arranged this way too, and steph nailed it down with the word “satisfying” because it completely feeds into some OCD part of my head and now i want to go re-arrange my closet or something. on an individual level i find myself very drawn to the green lattice one.

If you saw the state of the apartment around these photos, your OCD parts would vomit blood. I can’t create order without generating twice as much chaos
