Call For Art! DEADLINE: JULY 15, 2009

Our second d”Arte Board art contest is here! As before, winners will be featured on the front page of the blog. This time the theme is “PHOTOGRAPHIC ABSTRACTION”. Again, we encourage creative theme interpretation. You may base your interpretation on any of the definitions below. We will accept any work that incorporates both photographic elements and elements of abstraction. The piece itself is not required to be a photograph, but it must contain at least one photographic element. Nor is it required to be entirely abstract, but it must contain at least one element of abstraction. The most straight forward interpretation might be something like one of Toni or Jason’s abstract photographs, but under these broad definitions, the door is wide open for you to create all kinds of varied artwork. We’re excited to see what you come up with!

  1. Can the medium be simply a digital file or must there also be an analog realization?

    • Digital is the preferred medium. No postage necessary!

      • yeah, all we need is the digital file and the info about what it is we’re looking at. if it’s a digital work, we don’t care if there’s not an analog version. not all digi work is presented that way in the end so it would be foolish to try and require it. so if it’s purely digital then the descriptive info could look something like this

        1. Stephthemouth, http://stephg.org/
        2. “Somethingorother”
        3. N/A (that means not applicable)
        4. digital
        5. 2008

  2. i am inspired by this and for this. i can’t wait too see what everyone comes up with.

  3. I just took some awesome abstracted pictures! how convenient

  4. Had a hard time chosing.

  5. I said I’d submit something …

  6. *Da-Do* Says:

I sent some at the last minute but then read the smaller size requirement. I’ll resend.
