Musical Veggies by Heita3 on Youtube
This fabulous gentleman makes musical instruments out of food–mostly vegetables. On his Youtube channel, you can watch and listen to him performing such delightful tunes as “London Bridge Is Falling Down” on a Carrot, “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” on a pepper and “Silent Night” on a daikon radish. The vid below features his stunning rendition of “Angels We Have Heard On High” on a broccoli.
Here’s his own description as an introduction:
“A big broccoli ocarina can have been done. The tune is “Angels We Have Heard On High. ” My wife is accompanying it.“
If you enjoyed that, you should really check out the rest of his videos. There are over 40 in all, including an instruction vid for making your own carrot ocarina. In some of the performances he’s also accompanied by his adorable little daughter. Great stuff!!!

I don’t know what to say about this.
Although I am not one to shy away from the odd or unusual, this seems something akin to playing with one’s food. However…I am wondering if a watermelon would be an airtight enough container to allow fermentation properly with an air-lock and stopper (after giving the contents a quick spin through a bung hole with a drill and some proper fruit wine yeast).

hahaha give it a try, Andrew! sounds like it could be a refreshing summer treat! and it’s not exactly playing WITH one’s food, it’s just playing one’s food.

I have to admit it was a little disturbing when my younger brother, Ben would make his green beans walk across his plate (when he could finally sit at the table), then gobbled them up like a monster. He did not turn out to be a cannibal, or even a theatrical villain. Drat!
