2008 Holiday Cards

This year I created one of a kind Holiday Cards for everyone on my mailing list, most friends and several coworkers.  My family got gift certificates because most of them now have so much of my art that they are actually building walls out of the stuff, upon which they then hang plain white plaster squares.  Its very tastefully done, truth be known.

Anyways, the result is 60+ individual “cards” of various sizes and styles.  They were all made by collaging masking tape with paint on it or Picasso artwork (a couple Klimts made it in there).  The largest is 8″ x 11″, the smallest around 3.5″ x 3.5″.  When I return from Los Angeles after Christmas, I will be giving away all the remaining pieces so if you like any of them, check back around New Years.

For your viewing pleasure I am showing all (I think) of the cards below.

Now I am looking forward to a very unproductive week of vacation.

See you at the punch bowl,

JD

  2. Thanks, Steph. You got the one that makes me think of a jellyfish.

  3. Sometimes I feel that my faith in human generosity, love, and charity is diminishing. But whenever that happens, I always know I can count on Doug Hastings to bring it back.

Hey, JD. I just got mine, and I love it! When you first posted this, it was one of my favorites; a veritable, Picasso redux. Thanks so much.

    Best-

  6. [...] due to how I made them with my pazzles machine. I think it’s interesting to compare against last year’s cards, which were all made completely by hand with scissors or scalpel. As were the Free Art Cards [...]
